I caught Living Well with Montel this morning, while I was cleaning my apartment. This was the first time I have seen the show. This particular episode featured the Ab Coaster, a unique piece of exercise equipment targeting the abs, and included various endorsements from the healthcare panel, users and Montel, himself.
A couple things struck me right off-the-bat.
One. Montel is looking phenomenal for someone struggling with Multiple Sclerosis! His commitment to Living Well despite his illness is so incredibly inspiring I’m almost speechless. I’d like to comment further on Montel and his struggle with MS at a later date.
Two. Way too many Americans struggle with their weight. As cited by Montel, courtesy of a Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Report, 63% of American adults are overweight; 31% are considered obese. And these figures say nothing of the rest of us who diet, exercise, count calories, yo-yo-ing between different numbers on the scale. In short, the majority of us have, at some point in our lives, struggled to maintain a weight/size that is healthy and makes us feel good -- and feel good about the way we look.
It is, for many people, a Challenge to reach a desired weight, let alone maintain that size. Diets and exercise regimens fail because these weight loss methods require a complete restructuring of our lifestyles in order to prioritize Weight Loss; and let’s face it, how miserable do we get when Weight Loss becomes The Priority in our lives? I mean, we have families, kids, hobbies, jobs, passions, vacations…I don’t want Calorie Counting to dominate my head.
Sigh. But here’s the breakthrough:
When Clients step out of Omni-Calm with their clothes a little looser; when they call the next day to say “I’m not hungry at all and I usually have 5 cookies in the afternoon;” when clients get a customized treatment to curb specific cravings. They know that they’ve discovered a resource that makes this constant battle to achieve our desired weight, our ideal size, a whole hell of a lot easier.
